A new home for motor enthusiasts
DriveTribe is a new social media and content creation platform fronted by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. Within the DriveTribe platform, users can create their own tribes, join other tribes and start creating, sharing and commenting on content.
Role & Responsibilites
My role within the team was as a Senior User Experience Designer working with a multi-disciplinary team to help the final push for launch. This included the following tasks:
- Concept sketches and scamps
- Wireframes
- Specification documents
- UI design for Studio
- Working with Sketch and Photoshop
- Helping plan and structure work and communication between teams
The UX and UI Design teams both used the Sketch app to create wireframes and designs which allowed UX to use the style guide to create wireframes that would be closer to the final design. I worked on wireframes focused around the tribe page, gamification elements within the users profile and created the UX for the comments system.

SPECIFICATION DOCUMENTS
We created lightweight specification documents for each ticket that was being actioned. These were created rapidly and managed by the UX team with input from creative and front end/ back end developers. These documents became the blueprint for the entire app and site.
STUDIO
DriveTribe comes with a Content Management System for Tribe leaders called Studio. I worked alongside the Lead Creative Designer and front end developers to create a simple article builder where the user can see a live view of their created content on web or mobile before publishing. Currently, Studio is only available for web.
